Pino Pascali, the artist from Polignano a Mare
Polignano a Mare is synonymous with beautiful landscapes, sea, relaxation, fun and romanticism. You can also notice it in our offers where you will find the right one for you.
The fame of this city is also due to the fact that it gave birth to two great artists: Domenico Modugno and Pino Pascali. A statue was dedicated to Domenico Modugno that still today is one of the major tourist attractions of Polignano a Mare. Pino Pascali, however, is remembered with a Prize, a Museum and a Foundation that works not only to not to forget his figure, but also to offer some important artistic moments to the city. Ex Chiesetta also bears the name of Pascali, proof of its recognition as one of the most important Apulian personalities of the twentieth century.
Pino Pascali, the innovative artist
Pino Pascali is considered one of the most innovative artists of the last century. He was sculptor, scenographer and performer and his art has been appreciated since the beginning until upon his death happened prematurely in 1968. In his works the roots of Mediterranean culture join the playful dimension of art, in sculptures made with recycled materials such as metals, straw and ropes. He is also considered to be one of the exponents of Poor Art. His career reaches its peak in the period in which he lives in Rome, where he also works as RAI scenographer.

On January 26th "My Way- Installation with Figures" was inaugurated in Pino Pascali Foundation. It is a project conceived by Fabio Sargentini, historical gallerist of The Attic that had established an important partnership with Pino Pascali, supporting his artistic personality not only in all the stages of his dazzling career, but also after his premature death. "Dinosaur Crest" and "Silkworm" are the two most important historical works on display. The first one comes from National Gallery of Rome, the second one was bought recently by Pascali Museum.
